Psychedelia

Psychedelia is the iconic black-light-only competition featuring both youth and adult waves with a changing theme every year. This is the biggest competition The Spot hosts, involving over 80 volunteers aiding in facilities, setting, and tape art.

In the planning stages, several unique tasks set this event apart from other competitions. Here are a few examples: hiring an art director and assistant art director to design the tape art based on the chosen theme (Grimm's Fairytales for 2024), creating the volunteer sign-up and ensuring all volunteers completed their waivers, hiring artists for competition merchandise and circus performers for the day-of event, and overseeing the setting department's budget for tape and equipment purchasing.
